In late 1983, Hilda and Michael Tonkin founded UK & EUROPEAN TRAVEL SERVICE as a specialist travel agency for UK/Europe.
Over the years a number of British organizations have chosen UK and European Travel as their official Australian representatives - Hoseasons Canal Boats and Cottages, Avanti London Apartments, Pride of Britain Hotels and Caledonian McBrayne Scottish Ferries, to mention a few.
Then in 1999 UK and European Travel was proud to be appointed the official representative in Australia/New Zealand for the Tourist Boards of Jersey and Guernsey, the British Channel Islands.
Over the past 25 years UK & European Travel has been awarded a Highly Commended Certificate three times by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) and has had a close relationship with several National Tourist Boards including the British Tourist Authority and the Irish Tourist Board.
In September 1999 the name was changed to Britain and Europe-on-Line (BEOL) and it became a fully online reservation system. Christopher Tonkin then spent many months creating this very comprehensive site which not only satisfies every possible travel need but also gives you the links to all manner of travel information - weather, tourist boards, currency information, ATM locators, and more. It is the most impressive and useful site we have seen anywhere for travel to Britain and Europe.
